Calling all chocolate and fudge lovers. That’s most of you, right? You may have had your fair share over Christmas and told yourself that January means clean eating no junk. Well you’ll be pleased to know that Fit Fudge offers delicious goodies for the those with a sweet tooth, made from completely healthy, natural, paleo-friendly and organic ingredients.

‘The natural performance superfood snack’ is the tagline, one which supports its pretty impressive list of elements designed to provide sustained energy: coconut oil; tahini; raw cacao; ground chia seeds; raw honey; coffee; vanilla and sea salt. It’s nutritional profile is further enhanced with the addition of superfoods like vitamin-rich maca powder, plus sugar level stabiliser cinnamon, anti-inflammatory turmeric and metabolic-boosting cayenne pepper.

Aimed at those following a low sugar, keto and high fat/low carb lifestyles, Fit Fudge can be enjoyed straight from its dinky little snack pack, frozen and cut up or blended into your coffee – I appreciate versatile products so this appealed to me when I first came across the brand. Another bonus is that everything is handmade ‘with love’ in the UK, so if you’re a supporter of British names then this is one to support.

I was kindly sent a selection of products, including the original Fit Fudge and also its Orange counterpart. Both were deliciously rich, packed full of flavour and tasted delightfully decadent. If you’re a fan of coffee, you’ll love the original flavour as this comes through quite strongly, while the Orange variety is more subtle and offers a natural sweetness (it doesn’t contain coffee or cayenne). I personally enjoyed adding both to drinks or protein shakes as I found it a little unusual to eat (slurp?) straight from the pack. However, that’s just personal preference.

See below my nutrient-boosting, vegan friendly Chocolate Orange Ginger Mocha Protein Shake recipe which I whizzed up using the Orange Fit Fudge – believe me, it’s to die for.

For one serving:

  • ½ sachet Orange Fit Fudge
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 teaspoon coffee
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder

Make up the coffee with 1 cup boiling water and stir in the Fit Fudge to dissolve. Stir well then leave to cool. Now add this to a blender with the other ingredients, whizz up, pour into a glass and enjoy!

Onto the Fit Chocolate. Similar to the fudge, this high fat, low carb snack can be served frozen, straight from the pack or blended into coffee. Created using a blend of organic coconut oil, raw cacao powder and raw honey, the limited edition Christmas Blend is spiked with festive spices – cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves…Ahhhh, so comforting and soothing while tasting rich and indulgent. I froze my pack and found that a little goes a long way – simply break it up and remove a little slab from the pack when you need a chocolate fix.

Likewise the Orange flavour Fit Chocolate was equally divine, think Terry’s Chocolate Orange but darker, less sweet and of course, made from healthy ingredients and without the sugar spike. I stirred a little of this one straight from the pack into coffee for an orange-infused mocha kick, while the rest of it made a brilliant drizzle over protein pancakes.

My verdict on the Fit Fudge brand: One to watch out for. More and more products are popping up to satisfy a sweet tooth without the unnecessary and excessive amount of crap (namely, refined sugar), which is really positive to see. I love the branding, the individually packaged pouches and the variety of flavours on offer for both (see website). Offering various ways of enjoying them, you can use these as you please without being restricted. Handmade and containing only natural, healthy ingredients – what’s not to love about this chocoholic’s dream?
